SEARCH FUND

The Search Fund method is a two-step approach in raising funds from investors. In the first stage, a small group of investors would back top-notch managers to search for companies to acquire. In the second stage, upon acquisition, these search fund managers, assume operating roles in the newly-controlled company. The goal is to eventually provide a liquidity event for investors a few years after the acquisition; either thru the sale of the company, Initial Public Offering or recapitalization. The planned activity will consist of drilling one or two new exploratory wells along the Marcellus Shale or what has become known as the Trenton-Black River play, a deep natural gas formation that cuts right through the part of Central West Virginia where Lewis County is located.
